Suffering a bad flare up in BOTH WRISTS.
I am completely incapacitated, as anyone who knows gout can imagine.
Absolute Fucking agony. Gonna lie in bed and wait for the medication to kick in.
I'm gonna need a shit at some point as well. I dunno how that'll work out.

Had this for 25 years, very painful.
Used to get maybe two attacks a year, then slowly they got longer and more severe.
Whenever I got one if do the usual, foot up, cherry juice, NSAIDs, water by the bucket load and it would subside eventually. Mainly my big toe but also my ankles more and more.
Went docs, had all the blood tests done and prescribed Allupurinol, 100mg to start and increase to 200 after two weeks. Went last week and Uric acid down to 320 which is really good.
The doc who is a rheumatologist says drinking water is so good for you and it's 1/3rd hereditary 1/3 lifestyle and 1/3 body genetics where you either over produce or under excrete the acid.
Get on the tablets, they've been around 50years and very safe, just have the blood tests first to make sure the rest of your organs are functioning correct

A mate of a mate whom I did the Yorks 3 Peaks with a few weeks back did it after having a gout flare up in the week leading upto the walk.
Personally, I think he should've sacked it but he got round in under 12 hours so credit to him.

I've had it in my toe a few times. As well as some of the above (prawns, Turkey marmite etc) i I was also told to lay off beer because of the yeast in it.

had a severe attack in both knees and right ankle was totally fucked trapped on the settee for a week had to piss in a bucket as couldnt walk at all...i feel your pain mate
